I have lived in South Shields all of my life. I am married with 3 grown up sons, plus 9 grandchildren. I Have run my own businesses and managed other organisations. I was a Councillor from 1982 until 1991. Vice Chair of the Passenger Transport Authority from 1985 until 1991. Non Executive Director of South Tyneside Health Authority from 1991 until 2000 Non Executive Director of the Mental Health Trust from 2000 and still Chairing Hearings in the Northern Region. I have been politically active since I was a teenager.
