The traditional South Tyneside Mayor's Sunday Parade and Church Service is taking place this weekend (Sunday, 15th June).
The Borough's new Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Alex Donaldson and his wife Brenda will head the annual Mayor's Sunday Parade, which will form at South Shields Town Hall before leaving at around 10.30am.
South Tyneside Pipe Band will lead them along Beach Road and Westoe Road to the service, which taking place in St Bede's RC Church, at 11am. The parade will then return to the Town Hall.
The following street closures will be in place between 10.30am and 11am:
- Anderson Street from Broughton Road to Beach Road;
- Roundabout closed at Anderson Street and Beach Road;
- Beach Road between Anderson Street and Fowler Street;
- Westoe Road between Fowler Street and Erskine Road.
Westoe Road from Erskine Road and Crossgate will be closed for a short period of time between noon to 12.30pm.
