Once again, South Shields Crematorium will be changing its opening hours to allow bereaved families to pay their respects over the Christmas period.
The Crematorium will be open as normal up to and including Thursday 24 December but on Christmas Day (25th), Boxing Day (26th) as well as December 27th and 28th the Crematorium will be open from 11am to 3pm.
From Tuesday 29 December - Thursday 31 December the opening times will be 9am to 4pm.
The opening times from Friday 1 January (2010) to Sunday 3 January will be 11am to 3pm and then opening times will return to normal from Monday 4 January.
The cemeteries will be open as per the times posted on all main entrances to enable families to visit graves, leave tributes and pay their respects to loved ones.
The council's proposed arrangements in relation to the Crematorium opening times over the Festive Period will be as follows:
