Book lovers were left captivated with tales of crime in Nigeria and poetry about Durham when they met North East authors at an event in South Shields.
Readers were given the opportunity to meet writers, Kachi Ozumba, Cynthia Fuller and Graham Pears and hear about their books, at a READ Regional event held in the Central Library.
READ Regional is an annual campaign to promote North East authors to readers across the region. New Writing North, the regional agency for developing reading and writing, runs the project in conjunction with local library services.
Copies of each of the eight READ Regional books by North East authors and poets are available to borrow from all South Tyneside libraries.
