A fun day for all the family

In the Central Lending library the South Shields Local History group will be explaining their project to protect and digitise old glass negatives.

There will be the chance to find out more about E-reading and E-books.

There will be a library treasure hunt.

In the Amy Flagg Room there will be :

An introduction to the maps of the Local Studies Library presented by Anne Sharp from 9.30 - 10.30am

Park Rangers Mike Skinner and Jade Ridley will be explaining more about the NEW 'Marine Park App' allowing local history to reach new audiences, there will also be a display of information and historical documents about Marine Park from 11 - 12noon.

In the Library Theatre there will be :

A showing of the film 'The King of South Shields' about Mohamed Ali and his visit to Shields at 10am

A talk by Peter Leech on The History of the Stanhope and Tyne Railway organised by the Friends of South Tyneside Libraries at 2pm
