Have Your Say On Alcohol Licensing Policy
Press release
The current policy has been in place since January 2008 and must be reviewed and re-published by January 7, 2011.
The Council has produced a revised draft policy, which outlines how fair and consistent licensing decisions will be made and is now seeking the views of local people and businesses on its contents.
Councillor Peter Boyack, Chair of the Licensing Committee, said: "The Council is committed to consultation and, as this policy affects almost every resident in the Borough, it is important that local people have the opportunity to express their views. We are also consulting with our partners in the police and fire brigade, as well as with local businesses."
The draft policy can be viewed at the Council's Licensing Section on Level 3 of South Shields Town Hall, or downloaded from the Council's website: www.southtyneside.info/licensing. Comments must be received by Thursday, September 9.
