The Council can play a co-ordination and supporting role in recruiting the right people for your business. We can potentially help companies who are taking on new staff with pre-employment training, recruitment and advertising of vacancies.
The Council can provide support to organisations that are making redundancies by bringing together agencies that specialise in careers advice.
Support with bidding for public sector contracts
The Council can support businesses to bid for public sector contracts through its Bid Box project. The project offers an on line resource giving businesses access to hundreds of public sector contracts, as well as helping companies to understand the process for bidding for public sector contracts, and how to complete a successful bid.
Business Forum
The South Tyneside Business Forum is the Business Champion of the area. Registration is free and open to any business in South Tyneside. Members benefit from gaining knowledge and information on what's important to business locally, having their say on local issues, access greater support from agencies and other businesses, benefit from collaboration and networking opportunities.
The Forum holds regular meetings and events, ranging from inter-trading business fairs, to open forum meetings to an annual Business Dinner. It also runs sector groups in Construction and Retail & Tourism, specialising in issues relating to these sectors, and has a strategic partnership with the South Tyneside Business Network to offer regular networking meetings.

Manufacturing Forum
The Manufacturing Forum was set up to enable manufacturing companies in South Tyneside to work together to resolve common issues. The Forum has 3 primary concerns:

- Collaboration - raising common issues
