South Tyneside is now a safer place to live than it has been in decades thanks to the work of the 'Safer South Tyneside' Partnership.
Did you know?
- Total crime in South Tyneside is down by 15%.
- Anti-social behaviour incidents reported to the Anti-social Behaviour Unit have reduced by 21%.
- The number of young people committing offences has dropped by 28%.
- Violent crime has fallen by 14%.
- Calls to the Community Wardens decreased by 11%.
- Offenders completed over 15,000 hours of Community Payback.
- 628 Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators and 82 Community Crime Fighters help keep the Borough safe.
- 192 CCTV cameras have led to 926 arrests.
- Our Victims Champion supported 93 victims of anti-social behaviour.
