Local Safeguarding Network
South Tyneside Safeguarding Children Board recognises the valuable contribution made by local community groups to children's wellbeing. Whatever service is being provided it is essential that it is provided as safely as possible. South Tyneside Local Safeguarding Network exists to provide safeguarding guidance and support to all local community and voluntary groups to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children and young people that use their services and also the staff and volunteers that provide them. The Network meets quarterly - the next meetings are 08/11/2011, 9.30 - 11.00 and 27/02/2012, 1.00 - 2.30, both meetings will be held at South Shields Town Hall. However, in July 2011 The Board adopted the Safe Network standards. The Safe Network is the national body established to provide safeguarding guidance and advice to small and medium sized community and voluntary groups.
