Share Love Of Reading In New Children's Group

Press release

A new reading group for children is being launched at Jarrow Library.

The Chatterbooks reading group, which starts on Thursday 6th October at 4pm, aims to encourage a love of reading among children aged eight to 12.

With best selling writer Jacqueline Wilson as the patron, and authors and publishers supporting the scheme, Chatterbooks is a great way to find out about the best children's books available and ideas to inspire children to read more.

Meetings are monthly and places are limited. Places can be booked by calling the library on (0191) 489 7786.

Other exciting sessions on offer at Jarrow Library include Storytots on Mondays, from 10am to 10.45pm, and Fridays from 2pm to 2.45pm

Baby Bounce sessions are also held on Tuesdays, from 10am to 11am.  This is a great way to introduce children from birth to songs and rhymes.

Jiggle Wiggle, incorporating action nursery rhymes and songs for toddlers and pre-school children, takes place on Wednesdays from 2.15pm to 2.45pm

All sessions are free. For further information, contact Jarrow Library on (0191) 489 7786.
