Electrical recycling

*Do you have an electrical item that's lost its spark? Or any small electrical items lying around that are broken or a bit past their best?

You can drop them off at the Recycling Village or have them collected through our Bulky Waste.

Items you can recycle at the Recycling Village:

  • larger electrical goods such as fridges, freezers, washing machines, microwaves and TVs 
  • smaller electrical goods such as irons, radios, kettles and hairdryers
  • batteries
  • light bulbs and lamps

You can recycle batteries at the following stores: 

  • Asda, Coronation Street (in store)
  • Asda, Boldon Colliery (in store)
  • Morrisons, Coston Drive / Ocean Road, South Shields (in store)
  • Morrisons, Jarrow (in store)
  • Mothercare, 93 King Street, South Shields (in store)

  • Sainsburys Local, 3 Station Terrace, East Boldon (in store)
  • B&Q Superstore, South Shields (in store)
  • Travis Perkins, Mitre Place, South Shields (in store)
  • Aldi, Chichester Road (in store)
