Staff and volunteers have a duty to report concerns, even if they are not working or volunteering in a care setting, for example, if they work in another part of the council.
You should share your concerns if someone tells you something, or you see or hear something that makes you feel uncomfortable or concerned about a child or vulnerable adult.
Some larger organisations (such as the NHS and schools) have people who have a responsibility for protecting children and adults. They can offer advice, take referrals and make decisions about how to proceed within the policy and procedures.
