School leavers can find everything they need to plan their big night whilst raising money for South Tyneside charities at an exclusive Prom Fayre in South Shields Town Hall next month (March).

South Shields Town Hall is a popular venue for shows and Elegance Bridal in South Shields will be transforming the majestic Reception Room into a prom extravaganza on Sunday 11th March, between 2pm and 5pm.

They will be showcasing a wide range of celebratory essentials such as fabulous gowns and luxury cars.

Money raised from the event will go to the Mayor's Charity, which this year is supporting Arthritis Care, St Clare's Hospice and Relay for Life.

The Mayor, Councillor Jim Sewell said: "This is a wonderful opportunity to view the brilliant prom wear that one of our very own local businesses has to offer. Our magnificent Town Hall will provide the perfect backdrop for school leavers who are planning their special occasion. Tickets are only £2.50 and include light refreshments. It will be a fantastic event so why not come along and enjoy a raffle while helping to raise money for local charities.

"The Prom Fayre is one of many events held throughout this year to raise money for the three charities I've chosen. Donations can also be made via the Council's website www.southtyneside.info and are always gratefully received."

For tickets please call Lynne Owen at South Tyneside Council on (0191) 424 7256.
