Teams Set To Tee Off For Mayor's Charity
Press release
Golf enthusiasts and businesses are being urged to help raise cash for good causes in a very special one-day tournament in South Shields.
Places are still available for teams of four to play a round of golf in the 12th annual Mayor's Charity Golf Tournament, which is taking place on Thursday 26th April, at 12.30pm, at South Shields Golf Club in Quarry Lane.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Mayor's Charity, which this year is supporting St Clares Hospice in Jarrow, Arthritis Care South Tyneside and Relay for Life South Tyneside.
Organisers are seeking 18 teams of up to four people. Teams cost £100 each. The price includes a meal. There will also be prizes for the three top scoring teams, a few smaller prizes and a raffle.
Local companies are also encouraged to support the event by sponsoring a hole for £50 each.
The Mayor of South Tyneside, Councillor Jim Sewell said: "We hope that businesses and organisations will get teams together and join us for what will be an excellent event. Over the years this fun event has been a real success, raising thousands of pounds for great causes in the Borough. I'm sure that all those who get involved - players, sponsors and guests - will have a really good time."
