Lawson Added To Line-Up For Free North East Gig
Chart-topping group The Feeling are to be joined by one of the UK's hottest new acts for a free concert in the North East.
The Feeling, whose hits include Fill My Little World and Never Be Lonely, will be playing Bents Park, South Shields on Sunday, July 29, as part of the South Tyneside Summer Festival 2012.
Festival organiser, South Tyneside Council, has now announced that they will be accompanied by pop band Lawson, whose debut single When She Was Mine made it into the top five earlier this year.
The talented foursome, who have supported The Wanted and recently headlined their own UK tour, will be performing a number of hits from their forthcoming debut album, which they recorded in LA, including new single, Taking Over Me, which is due for release on August 5.
Councillor Alan Kerr, Deputy Leader of South Tyneside Council said: "Lawson is undoubtedly one of the biggest new acts in the UK today. They've already built up a huge fan base by posting their music on YouTube and performing live across the country and we're delighted to be able to offer people the chance to see them for free in the North East."
This is the last in a series of Sunday concerts being held in Bents Park as part of the South Tyneside Summer Festival's three month line up of free live music and family-focussed events, which runs until the end of August. Previous headliners in the series included Scouting for Girls and X Factor winner Matt Cardle.
Gates for the concert featuring Lawson and The Feeling will open at 12.30pm and entry is free.
