Press release

South Tyneside Council is re-launching its business start-up grant to help new companies in the Borough find their feet.

The Council has a budget of £50,000 for the grant scheme, which is open to virtually any type of new business in any sector.

The grant can cover up to 50 per cent of capital costs up to a maximum grant of £1,000 and can contribute towards things such as building works, productive equipment and ICT and office equipment.

All applications must be approved before the money is spent, and in order to apply, companies must draw up a business plan. This process can be aided by TEDCO (the Tyneside Economic Development Company).
