From 24 December 2013 we will be permanently closing our face to face cashier's service (currently based at South Shields Town Hall, Landreth House and Hebburn Civic Centre) and promoting alternative ways to pay. For more information:
It's easy to pay your council tax online using a debit card.
Why pay online?

- Keep track of all of your payments online or print your own receipts
Stop worrying about going to pay for your council tax, and reminder letters if you don't pay on time, by paying by Direct Debit.
With Direct Debit, select one of the following dates and let your bank do the hard work;
1st, 11th, 15th, 21st, and 28th
Your Council Tax is payable in monthly instalments in accordance with your bill.
It's really simple to set up. Call us on 0191 424 4330 or complete and return our direct debit form[pdf - 169kb]
Please note there is no need to cancel your Direct Debit when your Council Tax charge has been paid in full. The Direct Debit will automatically resume when the new Financial Year starts.
Payment by cash or cheque can be made at any Post Office or any retail outlet displaying the PayPoint logo. Payments by this method may take up to 2 working days to be credited to your account.
Cheques should be made payable to "South Tyneside Council", and sent to South Tyneside Council, Hawthorne Building, Rolling Mill Road, Viking Industrial Estate, Jarrow, NE32 3DP.
