Council partners
Our LSP has been set up to improve the quality of life in South Tyneside. Membership includes the council, police and health authority as well as community organisations like South Tyneside CVS and many more.
The LSP aims to take a long-term view of the borough's needs, and bring together all the different groups that have a role to play. Its role is to develop and achieve a shared vision for the future by using the resources at its disposal and concentrating its collective efforts on the things we need to do first.
To be successful the partnership must communicate effectively. Each core group member represents a communication route into a much wider group and has a responsibility to be in touch with the concerns of the group they represent.
The LSP has 6 priorities:
- Promoting a sense of place, cultural opportunities and well-being
- Helping any child and young person achieve their potential
- Making communities safer & stronger
- Helping people to live independent and healthy lives
- Helping people into jobs and encouraging enterprise
- Building a sustainable environment with great housing and transport links
