Family learning
There are two types of Family Learning course Family literacy, language and numeracy (FLLN) and Wider Family Learning (WFL).

FLLN courses aim to improve:

  • The literacy, language and numeracy skills of parents/carers
  • Parents/carers' ability to help their children learn
  • Children's language and numeracy

WFL courses allow adults and children to learn together.  They also allow parents/carers to learn how to support their children's learning. Some of their aims are:

  • To promote lifelong learning for the whole family
  • Build the confidence of family members of all ages
  • Help involve parents/carers in their children's education and interests and be better able to support them during and after the course
