Children's centres
There are 12 children's centres in South Tyneside. All offer care from 6 weeks to 5 years on a full or part time basis, and integrated care for 3 and 4 year olds attending early education.

Childcare integrated with early education
- Good quality early learning combined with full daycare for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday for a minimum of 48 weeks per year
- Links to other daycare provision, out of school clubs and extended school services
- Early identification of children with special needs and disabilities providing access and support for them and their families
