Fostering and adoption
Win a family entertainment package!
As part of Foster Care Fortnight, we're offering you the chance to win a family entertainment package by dropping into one of our fostering information sessions.
We try to keep children in their own families, near their friends, when we can do this safely. Sometime this is not possible, and we work to provide children with safe, secure and loving carers. For most children who cannot live with their own families, the best solution is for them to live with foster carers, and then move towards adoption.
It often really helps to talk through your concerns or questions with us to help you decide whether you want to do this. Please feel free to talk through your concerns or questions with us. You can phone us on 0191 423 8500 for an informal and down to earth chat, or email us at fostering@southtyneside.gov.uk
You may decide not to take things further - that's fine. Becoming a foster or adoptive parent is a big challenge. Our Fostering and Adoption team is one of the best in the country and will support you through the whole process.
