Recruitment help for employers
Are you looking to take on a new member of staff or more?
If so, then why not let us help you to identify suitable candidates for your vacancies, with our FREE of charge service.
All you need to do is tell us about your vacancy, and provide us with a job description, person specification and application form, and we will liaise with partner organisations who deal with people that are looking for employment, on your behalf.
We will forward details of your vacancy to partners (such as Jobcentre Plus, Family Works etc), and ask them to let us know of any suitable candidates within 5 working days.
We will then carry out an initial sift of applications/CV's on your behalf, to ensure we provide you with a list of applicants which meet your criteria, ready for you to do a final sift and invite candidates for interview.
This service is FREE of charge and available to companies in South Tyneside no matter how large or small. The service is intended to provide additional support on top of your own recruitment activities.
Funding to take on an apprentice
This fund can help South Tyneside businesses to recruit for a newly created apprenticeship position or a newly created job, with up to £4,000 per apprentice potentially available.
The position must not have been previously advertised and the monies may not be used to fill a job that has previously been made redundant.
The new employee/apprentice should be aged 18 - 24, have been unemployed for at least 3 months and live in South Tyneside.
The financial help is payable for 24 weeks at a maximum of 37 hours and a minimum of 30 hours per week, at the national minimum wage, which is currently £4.98 ph for 18 - 20 year olds and £6.08 for 21+ year olds.
Payment is 4 weekly and payable on a sliding scale. Approximately 60% of the salary is reimbursed to the employer by the council.
In addition to the above support we can provide advice and help on recruitment, redundancies and support with training for large scale recruitment drives. We work closely with a range of partner organisations including:
Jobcentre Plus See Jobcentre Plus or Tel 0845 601 2001
