The emerging masterplan concept is one of a high quality business park, set in a parkland setting, with the environment designed to a high quality offering a pleasant environment for both users of the buildings and the general public.
Public consultation prior to the development of Tyne Wear Park will ensure that the green paces are designed to ensure excellent public access.
Developers of the site will be encouraged to open the site to the public, allowing them to use the foot-paths and green areas. In addition the Council will be seeking a balanced mix of uses on the site, which could include amenities such as local shops, cafés and leisure facilities. These will add to the vitality of the development as a work place and increase the social contact between users.
