Carers Grants Panels
Adult carers of adults within South Tyneside have the opportunity to apply to the carers grant flexible fund to access a break from their caring role. Panels of carers consider the applications. There are three panels:
- Learning disabilities
- Mental Health
- Older People/Physical Disabilities
Panels meet approximately once a month.
Training for Health and Social Care Staff
CATALYST is a group of experienced carers who deliver training to health and social care staff in both the statutory and voluntary sectors. It also trains and supports other carers to become qualified trainers themselves.
Consultation With Carers
From time to time we need to consult with carers with regard to services and future developments.
