Working in childcare can be extremely rewarding.
If you are interested in pursuing a career, the Early Years Team will discuss the options available to you.
Childminding
- For people who want to work in their own home, at times that fit in with their home life. Childminders care for children from birth upwards
Nursery nurse/assistant/officer
- If you want to work in a childcare setting with babies and children under the age of five, this is for you
- Pre-school playgroups are also run by people with this qualification
Creche work
- Creche workers work in different locations, such as training venues, leisure centres, shopping malls, etc. while parents attend training courses or do their shopping
Playwork
- For people who enjoy working with older children, such as in out of school clubs, holiday playschemes, etc
Classroom and teaching assistants
- These careers are centred around the classroom environment
