Ofsted
Childminders, private nurseries, pre-school playgroups, out of school clubs and crèches are all registered childcare options.
Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education, is the regulatory body responsible for the inspection of all registered childcare.
When you visit any childcare provider you can ask to see the latest Ofsted Inspection Report as well as other certificates, such as First Aid, Criminal Records Bureau check, etc.
Parent and toddler groups are also included in this section; while not regulated by Ofsted, these groups give parents/ carers the opportunity to meet with others while their children are playing.
