Parent and toddler groups
These groups come under a variety of different names but are basically all about meeting people, making friends, sharing ideas and mutual support in an informal atmosphere with a cup of tea or coffee.
Groups generally meet once or twice a week in church halls, community centres, schools or family centres. These groups give children the opportunity to play with a variety of toys and to become involved in a variety of activities with other children.
Parents always stay with and are responsible for their own children, and there is usually a small charge.
