How much do you get paid as a foster carer?

The allowances foster carers receive depend on how old the child they are caring for is. The following table outlines the weekly allowance and how it is broken down. Our allowances are competitive and are set by the Fostering Network, a national independent body for the foster caring service.

We have a permanent NVQ assessor on our team and our foster carers have the opportunity to study for NVQ Level III in Health and Social Care or carers can undertake a Caring for Children and Young People National Vocational Qualification Level III. Qualification at this level links to financial bonuses for particular skills and abilities.

As a fee based carer you can earn £21,000 tax free plus allowances.
