Fostering with South Tyneside Council
You may already be aware that there are private fostering agencies that employ and train foster carers.
Here at South Tyneside Council we have roots within our own community and feel we are best served to meet the needs of our local residents.
Our foster carers receive a high level of training and on-going support to ensure they are up to the challenge of foster caring.
Our fostering allowances are set by the Fostering Network, an independent body, and are therefore competitive. Our Fostering team is dedicated and passionate about the service they provide.

We are proud of our carer representatives who are a vital part of our team and who organise social events, newsletters attend recruitment and training days to give potential carers their advice and share experiences, good and bad.
