Neighbourhood Action Planning

 Rekendyke Booklet CoverNeighbourhood Action Planning – action planning is a process where members of a community, either geographical or one identified by interest or identity, work together to produce a plan, which sets out their vision and their priority objectives for their neighbourhood or community and the actions and initiatives which might help to achieve them. It can produce two main types of outcomes:

  1. Actions that a local community proposes to undertake
  2. Influencing the policies, decision and actions of other stakeholders.

Our overall aims are to;

  • Develop a better understanding of neighbourhood needs
  • Engage residents
  • Develop Neighbourhood Partnerships
  • Provide Community Capacity Building
  • Ensuring good Communication with residents
  • Ensuring results

We recognise that “one size does not fit all” and each action plan will be developed in a way that meets the needs of the neighbourhood and may vary between areas.
