In order to oversee the implementation of the Regeneration Strategy and action plan the Transformation Partnership agreed to establish a new Working Group, comprising Senior Councillors, representatives of the Transformation Partnership, funding partners, and independent experts. The Leader of the Council chairs the Group.
The Group's remit includes:
- Overseeing the implementation of the South Tyneside Regeneration Strategy (Transforming Together)
- Receiving regular monitoring reports on progress of the implementation of the strategy, the achievement of milestones and the outputs and outcomes being recorded
- Seeking to resolve any issues arising from the non-achievement of the programme or individual key projects
- Considering, and recommending for approval, variations to the approved programme
- In due course reviewing and rolling forward the strategy
- Overseeing the implementation of a communications plan, promoting the achievements of the strategy and ensuring public consultation and engagement
