Short break services
The main way in which we support families is to provide short break services that enable parents to:
- Have a short break from the day to day responsibility of looking after their child
- Enable parents to meet their other caring responsibilities
Short breaks are provided in a number of different ways:
- After school, through providing care in an after school or holiday club
- Overnight care, provided by foster carers
- Overnight care provided by a specialist residential care provider
- A carer who comes to your house during the weekends and school holidays, giving you the chance to go out
- A carer who takes your child out during the weekends and school holidays
- At the holiday scheme during the summer holidays
