Council Procurement

The Social Care and Health Directorate commissions a range of services from both internal and external social care providers.  Commissioning in the context of adult social care is closely aligned to that of procurement across the Council.

The Commissioning plans and procurement processes in Social Care and Health fit within the overarching Council Corporate Procurement Strategy.

The purchase / procurement / commissioning of social care services is quite different from that detailed in the Council's corporate procurement strategy.  To support this we have developed a Social Care and Health Procurement Strategy.

All services commissioned from external social care providers must be done so in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Contract Procedure Rules.  These can be found in the Council's Constitution.
