Person Involvement

Background Information

In 2005 two strategies were developed to support Person Involvement:

Involving People in Adult Services : a strategy for action 2005/2008

This strategy aims to:

  • help make South Tyneside a place where people are included and everyone feels involved.
  • make sure that services meet the needs of people who use them.
  • help users and carers, through active participation in decision-making, to influence the development and quality of services.

Quality Strategy Adult Services 2005/2008

This strategy aims to provide an overview of all quality improvement activity and a shared improvement agenda across the Directorate and with other agencies.  It will also link with other strategies such as the Council’s Consultation and the Performance Management Strategy, as well as the Directorate’s Involving People in Adult Services Strategy.
