Person Involvement

What is Person Involvement?

Person Involvement

Person Involvement is about engaging with people so that we can understand their views on Council services and the care that they receive. We do this using a variety of methods such as focus groups, questionnaires, public meetings and interviews.

Person Involvement can improve the quality of the decisions that we make because more people, and most importantly the people affected by the Council’s decisions, are involved in the process. It can also help people to understand what is being done and why.

How can I get involved?

A number of groups, forums and panels already exist.  They give people the opportunity to put forward their views on the services and care they receive.

STEPS – A consultative body for disabled people in South Tyneside.

The South Tyneside Super Group – Have your say on services for people with learning disabilities.

Forum 50 - provides a voice for older people to enable them to play a full part in their community.
