Young people at risk
Children aged 8-16 year are more vulnerable and are at greater risk of being involved in anti-social behaviour or crime.
Children who offend are often those who are exposed to significant risk factors, such as:
- Offending family members or peers.
- School exclusion or truancy.
- Bullying.
- Alcohol/substance misuse.
- Family problems, domestic violence.
- Emotional/mental health issues.
- Deprived neighbourhood.
- Involvement in anti-social behaviour.
- Children/Young people who have received a police reprimand.
- Children/ young people living or socialising within known high crime area.
- Children/young people whose behaviour is concern and has a detrimental impact on other individuals in the community.
- Children and parents/carers who consent to the referral and are willing to voluntarily co-operate with the support programme.
