What is a Beacon Authority?

The scheme exists to share good practice so that local authorities can learn from each other and deliver high quality services to all. 

The Government's Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) runs the Beacon Scheme, awarding authorities that demonstrate outstanding practice in a specific theme.
