Local Strategic Partnership / Local Area Agreement
South Tyneside has been recognised by the government as one of the best councils in the country for its work in tackling local priorities.
The council, with its partners, has won a Government Beacon award as a local authority demonstrating best practice in working in partnership and delivering services together through our Local Area Agreement "Spirit of South Tyneside".
The judging panel considered that South Tyneside has a mature partnership and has developed strong relationships with our partners through shared priorities. The Local Strategic Partnership has taken an innovative approach by placing wellbeing at the heart of the Local Area Agreement. South Tyneside Council was one of only three authorities to win Beacon Status for its work in developing Local Strategic Partnerships.
