Flood awareness campaign 2006-2007
In the North East and Yorkshire alone more than 260,000 properties are at risk from flooding. It is vitally important that anyone living and working in these properties is aware that flooding carries not only a financial and emotional cost, but can also pose a serious threat to life.
This month, the Environment Agency is launching its annual Flood Awareness Campaign, as part of a national initiative aimed at everyone living or working in a flood risk area. It is designed to ensure that these people are warned, prepared and safe when a flood strikes.
