Planning policy and proposals
Local Development Framework (LDF)
The new development plan for your borough
The South Tyneside LDF will guide the future development of the borough over the next 10-15 years, gradually replacing our existing Unitary Development Plan (UDP).
It takes forward the vision for economic, social and environmental regeneration and transformation established in the Spirit of South Tyneside (the council's Sustainable Community Strategy, Regeneration Strategy and Local Area Agreement).
Along with national and regional policy guidance, its policies set the basis for determining all planning applications and proposals.
