Christmas and new year bin collections
When will my wheelie bin be collected?
Your wheelie bin is collected every week.
To find out which day your bin will be emptied, please ring the Contact Centre on 0191 427 7000.
Useful information:
- Please put your bin out before 8am
- Place your bin where the edge of your property meets the footpath/road
- Don't leave out large items or extra bags as they will not be collected
- Please take your bin back in once it has been emptied
When will my recycling bin be collected?
Your black Kerb-it box will usually be collected on the same day as your wheeled bin, but it will only be collected once a fortnight.
Please remember to put your box out by 8am on the day of collection.

Recycling Village opening times
The Recycling Village at Middlefields is now open 7 days a week.
Check the table below for opening times throughout the year.
