Recycling, rubbish and waste

Louise's recycling blog

Nearly everything gets recycled now
Posted on 1 July 2010

Weve had our bin almost a week now and already found we are recycling a whole lot more.

Its unbelievable how many things we used to put in the waste bin that can now be recycled really easily, like plastic milk bottles (we use a lot of milk), empty cleaning product bottles, pop and juice bottles, cardboard and empty cereal boxes. Its so easy to do when its on your doorstep, theres really no excuse for not doing it.

As our recycling has increased our waste bin is looking quite empty. That shows how much we were throwing out before.

There have been a few occasions when weve taken items out to the recycling bin that we have had to check with the stickers on the top to make sure our item was acceptable. It just takes a bit of getting used to and remembering what goes in where. The sticker on top of the bin is helpful, and we also have the leaflet that was delivered and of course can find out more on the website.
