Dunn Street School, Jarrow
The original Dunn Street School suffered fire damage and was abandoned for a number of years.
The school's temporary home was scheduled for demolition to make way for the new Tyne Tunnel development.
The solution was to use insurance money to rebuild the hall and two classrooms whilst refurbishing the shell of the remaining structure.

Garrick Street Surestart
After protracted feasibility studies concerning possible sites for the building, a reduction in European funding meant a radical re-think was needed.
The decision was taken to extend an existing 1960s nursery building within South Shields.

The centre has been seen as an icon for growth and regeneration as well as being a prominent gateway to the borough positioned at the head of the A19.

Building schools for the future is happening now in South Tyneside with the building of this school.
The new school is a combination of three former schools to be used as a generator of confidence into a deprived area of South Shields.

The new nursey in a deserving ward in Jarrow provided the anchor to re-inforce the neighbouring school and community association into a new centre combining all three.

Landreth House
One of the largest housing offices in the borough was uninviting, austere and grim.
The brief was to lighten the atmosphere. This was carried out and a coffee shop ambience was introduced.

Harton Gym
A new gym for a school serving the south eastern edge of South Shields.
After careful slection of a contractor to take forward the project on a design and build process, Harton School now has a splendid facility which has excellent open facilities for the local community after school.

This is a South Tyneside Council facility on the shores of Lake Coniston in Cumbria.
The centre has been well used over the years and is a very popular and valuable asset for South Tyneside.

Biddick Sure Start
This Surestart nursery is an addition to an exiting infants school and existing nursery classrooms.
The design was a response to a late revision in funding having previously designed a much larger building with a much larger budget.
It is a credit to the design team that this new scheme was delivered without loss of deliverable nursery activities.

Epinay Resource Building
A special school in Jarrow town centre was recently granted business enterprise status.
A stand alone extension to the school is currently under construction to provide training for IT, art and food technology.
