How much will it cost?
We want to minimise the cost of introducing the scheme but the key issue will be should it be funded by the people who will benefit from the introduction of parking permits (people who will be able to park outside their homes or businesses) or every council tax and business rate payer?
We propose that the fairest method is to introduce paid for parking permits so that those who benefit from the scheme pay for the administration of the scheme.
South Tyneside Council will not make any profit from the scheme. Funding raised will be used to pay for administering the scheme.
