Carers grants
What can I not use the grant for?
- For equipment for yourself such as computers
- Clothing/furniture
- For equipment such as aids and adaptations to the home or for the person you care for
- Payment for any financial contribution required for care or services, which are already being funded by the local authority
- Supplementing a break for either the carer or the person they care for which is being paid for by Direct Payments
- Anything that primarily benefits the person you care for, rather than you as their carer
