EUGOTo carry out house-to-house collections for charitable purposes in South Tyneside, you need a licence from South Tyneside Council.

  • Applications must be in the form prescribed by the council
  • You must be a fit and proper person

How long will it take for my application to be processed?

If your application is successful and we have received all of the necessary documentation, your application will be processed within five working days.

Will tacit consent apply if I haven't heard back from you?

Tacit consent cannot apply because the law requires you to have a permit from the Local Authority. The Council will  process your application within five working days. How do I appeal if my application isn't approved?

Please contact South Tyneside Council in the first instance.

You have the right to appeal to the Minister for the Cabinet Office.

Appeals must be lodged within 14 days of the refusal.
