Quality of life issues are important to residents of South Tyneside and the charts below show which aspects of life residents feel are getting better in their area, and which are getting worse.

28% of people think that Cultural facilities are getting better. However, 28% of people think that facilities for young children are getting worse. As a result of this we have asked young people what they would like to see. (LPSA)

People are most concerned about the level of crime and the level of traffic congestion, we have recently conducted a Fear of Crime study to look more in-depth at this issue and we are starting to put a transport strategy in place to look at congestion.
