Local Public Services Agreement (LPSA) - Interim Results only South Tyneside Council has recently agreed a Local Public Services Agreement with the Government. One of the objectives of this agreement is to increase young people's participation in local decision-making. To help achieve this, the Council has recently asked young people about their attitudes towards engaging and consulting young people in South Tyneside.
This consultation was carried out in two stages: -
- Stage1 - a survey of secondary school pupils in years 9, 10 and 11 in 5 schools in the borough.
- Stage 2 - a survey of young people aged 17 - 19 years of age
The main finding from this survey was that young people are more likely to disagree than agree that the Council listens to Young People when making decisions.
