Safer and Stronger Communities
Version 3, May 2008.
Common assault per 1000 population
South Tyneside has shown no change in the level of common assaults between 2006/07 and 2007/08.
The South Tyneside Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership Strategic Assessment has identified Violent Crime as a priority area and the resulting Partnership Plan contains key actions to reduce these levels.
These figures (and other crime rate statistics) are reported to the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership Strategy Group to help prioritise police and partner resources.
