Version 3, May 2008

Robberies per 1000 population

South Tyneside is the best performing council on the results of robberies during 2007/2008, showing a figure of only 0.4 per 1000 people. This is a reduction of 53% from the baseline figure set in 2003/2004, and well in excess of the target of 11.4% reduction

The reduction in the rate of robberies is the result of the combined efforts of the Police, the Community and the Partners through the Local Strategic Partnership, and the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership.

These figures (and other crime rate statistics) are reported to the Crime and Disorder Partnership Strategy Group to help prioritise police and partner resources.
